The Skate franchise is beloved by many, but it’s been 12 years since the last Sakte game. There’s been a couple skateboarding games in the last few years, but none like the iconic Skate series from EA. Thankfully, the developers at Full Circle are providing consistent updates on the next game in the franchise…
Skate 4 (sorry, just Skate. now) doesn’t have an official release date yet, but we now know it will be free-to-play and follow the Live Service model, as well as definitely 100% coming to PC. You can even sign up to the PC Skate playtest which currently doesn’t have an exact date yet, but puts you in the running for early access to the game sometime this Summer, with more players being invited over the coming months. Plus, some pre-pre-pre-Alpha gameplay has been shared:
There’s a lot more details to unpack, like the official location name which will be San Vansterdam. It will also include microtransactions, but nothing pay-to-win nor will any gameplay content be locked behind a paywall. It sounds like the developers are even looking into a Battle Pass system, as well as development for mobile platforms.
What do you think? Are you excited for Skate 4? How do you feel about the new details shared? Do you think the F2P model is a good thing? Are you signing up for the playtest? Let us know!

Oh welll... notify me when they release an actual product please. I buy products not services.

The F2P model breaks my heart, I know skateboarding games aren't as popular as they once were and this was the last bit of hope I had left... smashed to pieces. RIP Skate (4), if only EA wasn't such a horrid company.
