Up For Debate - What do you think of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered so far?

Of all the PlayStation exclusives we hoped were coming to PC, one of the biggest doubts was the Spiderman series of titles from Insomniac Games. Yet here we are, a few days since the launch of Spiderman PC, and so we want to know what do you think of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered so far?

Swinging his way onto the PC platform, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has been a critically acclaimed title on the PlayStation consoles already, so it’s no surprise that it is already well received on PC. Because of that, we especially want to know what you think of the PC port in general?

More specifically, how well is it performing on your setup? As the first title from PlayStation that was fully ported by Nixxes Software (which Sony acquired in July 2021) hopefully they will make a good first impression. The first proper PlayStation port was Horizon: Zero Dawn, which launched with considerable issues on PC.

Since then though, both Days Gone and God of War have been well received for their PC ports, and Spiderman Remastered is the first to support ray tracing on PC as well - which, although the PlayStation 5 also supports, is the superior platform for experiencing the technology. Hopefully this also means future PlayStation titles on PC will have similar quality standards at release.

So what do you think of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered so far? Have you been playing it since launch? How is it performing on your PC? What has been your favorite PlayStation PC port so far? And will you be getting Miles Morales when it launches this year as well? Let’s debate!

Bad PC port on my end. Doing okay on my PS but PC experience is still superior ;)

Although the PlayStation 5 supports ray tracing, Spiderman Remastered is the first PC game to do so, making it the best platform for using the technology. We can only hope that this indicates that next PlayStation games for PC will have comparable quality requirements. Regards from www.edmondpaintingpros.com

It's pretty good. I missed playing something where you aren't constantly bombarded with in game shop items, multiple currencies and the like. Story is decent, combat is fun, Arkham like. Some people hate it, some love it, i'm the latter, and movement is amazing. They really nailed that here. Swinging through the city is fast, fun and apart from some minor issues, very, very responsive.

I was gonna buy this I played both the original and Miles Morales on PS4 not too long ago. Maybe I'll grab it on sale or something.

According to Digital foundry, the game is really CPU intensive, even on the latest CPUs. If I had to guess, it comes down to optimization, since it runs well enough on zen 2 based CPU cores PS5.

Never ran over 30fps on PS4. Whereas PS5 runs 60fps. I would expect most pc players to rather aim for 60 (but even if you're aiming for 30 there's no shaming here).

that's most likely because of the lack of that sse patch.

Google for it, and you most likely find it.

Its made by someone else besides the developer, but it seems to work like a train.

So that might help to get it less cpu intensive

Don't know how it is, haven't played it - been too busy making money online using the scammer links from the comments.

I turned off RT, the FPS drops during fast swinging was too annoying :(

55-65fps on average with max 1440p i am more then satisfied when it comes down to peformance but movement is really disapointing there is no swinging like in older spiderman games

I mean Denuvo on a 4 year old game wouldn;t be a good look. People who want to buy are going to buy and people who don't just aren't. I mean its been proven cracking a game hardly has any affect on sales if any at all.

There is swinging. I don't know how you missed the most important part.

Having played the original on PS4, I can say that I'm enjoying it a lot! Runs great except for some issues I have when it goes to a cutscene and it randomly shuts my PC off or some weird tearing when I run it at 4K/60fps with ray tracing off. But nothing some fine tuning the settings can't fix.

My only complaint is the amount of noise raytracing creates. DLAA cleans it up a lot, but that means you can't use DLSS.
